Director High Performance & Development

Areas of Responsibilities: 1. Strategic High-Performance Leadership: Lead the creation of a comprehensive development strategy to grow the sport at the grassroots, club, and youth levels while establishing a unified tactical “National Style”. 2. Long-Term Planning: Develop and execute multi-year strategic plans aligned with 4-year World Cup and Olympic cycles to ensure consistent top-tier international rankings. 3. Youth Development & Talent Identification: Oversee the design of youth programs across schools and colleges, utilizing a scientific and merit-based talent identification framework for U-16, U-18, and U-21 levels. 4. National Team Pipeline: Coordinate with coaches and selectors to integrate identified young talent into national development pipelines, acting as the technical lead during the selection process. 5. Technical Auditing: Conduct rigorous “Post-Tour” technical reviews of team performances to identify tactical gaps and implement immediate corrective measures. 6. Executive Recruitment: Oversee the shortlisting and recruitment process for Team Managers, Head Coaches, and Assistant Coaches for all national squads. 7. Coaching & Management Education: Establish continuous professional development pathways for coaches and specialized training for Team Managers to meet international standards. 8. Modernization & Sports Science: Manage multidisciplinary support staff (S&C, Physiotherapists, Nutritionists) and mandate the use of advanced video analysis and GPS tracking. 9. Player Database Management: Maintain a sophisticated, auditable database of player performance, fitness history, and technical evaluations to track progress from youth to senior ranks. 10. Operations & Compliance: Supervise team operations to ensure professional precision in camps and tours while enforcing a “Zero Tolerance” policy regarding anti-doping and misconduct. 11. Stakeholder & International Relations: Build relationships with sponsors and government bodies to secure funding, while acting as a technical spokesperson to liaise with the AHF and FIH. 12. Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and evaluate the performance of development initiatives and provide independent technical evaluations of all team management panels to leadership. 13. Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure that hockey development programs are inclusive, offering equal opportunities for all genders and socio-economic backgrounds. 14. Any other duty assigned by Secretary General, PHF. Qualification and Experience: • Elite Representation: Must have represented the Senior National Team in major international tournaments (e.g., Olympics, World Cup, or Champions Trophy). • Leadership Record: Preference for candidates who have captained a National Squad or demonstrated significant leadership during a successful international era. • Technical Certification: Must hold an FIH Level 3 or FIH Academy Master Coach qualification (or equivalent high-level continental certification). • Experience: 5 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, including at least two years’ experience as a Head Coach at the international level (Senior or high-potential Junior squad). Note: Experience in private entities shall be accepted if such entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Regulatory Authority. Competencies & Personal Attributes: • Modern Game Proficiency: Demonstrated knowledge of modern tactics, video analysis, and high-intensity “Total Hockey” systems. • Staff Leadership: Experience in managing or mentoring multidisciplinary Team Management Panels. • Professional Skills: Good writing, communication, and computer skills. Salary and Benefits: As per PHFSP-1 package and any other benefit(s) admissible subject to the approval of the President.
